Vestibular Rehabilitation is a specific type of therapy that is designed to reduce dizziness, improve balance, and improve the general quality of life in patients with vestibular dysfunction. - What occurs during a Vestibular Rehabilitation evaluation?
- Our licensed physical therapists have been specifically trained in vestibular rehabilitation and will conduct a wide range of tests to determine the most appropriate type of physical therapy intervention. Our licensed physical therapists will conduct a complete evaluation of your vestibular function as well as your ability to utilize the three primary systems (visual, sensation, and vestibular) that contribute to balance and postural control. You may experience dizziness during the evaluation but this will help us determine the most appropriate physical therapy intervention. Once we have completed the evaluation, our therapist will design a physical therapy intervention that is specific to your individual needs. This intervention may include simple exercises to be performed at home or it may include the physical therapist taking you through some very specific movements in our therapy center.
